Ralac - caring for community

	Innovative Partnership ralac has commenced a innovative partnership with Zen Buddhist Hospice. The objectives of the Project – named ‘Just for Today’ are: To dissolve some of the preconceptions and fears held by people in the ralac community about death and dying To allow people in the ralac community to be themselves through the dying process To provide ralac staff with the opportunity for greater reflection and self care as they tend to people in the last stages of life To assist people in the ralac community to relax in the moment. Every Tuesday for 12 weeks volunteers from Zen Buddhist Hospice will work with the ralac community around these objectives, providing support ranging from relaxation, counselling, reiki, to foot reflexology. Ralac feels very privileged to be a partner in this project. New Community Housing We have been able to convert part of our Maroondah Rd House into bedsit accommodation expanding our Community Housing options. Temporary bedsit accommodation for families at Lionsbrae Sometimes there is a need for family members to spend intensive time with a resident at Lionsbrae. This may be because someone is palliative or they have had to travel a long distance to visit. We are very pleased to be able to now offer temporary accommodation to people in this situation.
